UNDP-Ukraine “Fair Justice for Human Development” Project
The overall project objective is to continue to effectively support the establishment of democratic governance in Ukraine as a critical aspect of Ukraine’s European integration aspirations.
Main directions
- Support to Judiciary Reform
- to consolidate the capacity of the High Administrative Court of Ukraine to introduce reforms that enable achievement of European standards and citizen access to administrative courts to protect their rights against the state
- to achieve more awareness of the citizens on their rights with regard to providing them by services from the state as well as on mechanisms to protect their rights
- to serve as a point of contact between and to improve coordination among donor community and Ukraine on Judicial Reform
- Support to National Commission on Strengthening Democracy and Rule of Law and to Ministry of Justice
- to facilitate development of a stable, transparent and accountable legislative framework for the implementation of institutional reform, rule of law and anti-corruption initiatives in compliance with Council of Europe standards
- to improve the capacity of the Ministry of Justice to formulate and implement anti-corruption and rule of law policies
- to promote instruments for the citizen’s access to the system of justice and for providing the citizen with a voice in the decision making process, particularly with respect to the administration of justice
- Support to Main Department of Civil Service of Ukraine
- to promote civil service reform to enable better access to high-quality public services and Improve the capacity of the Main Department of Civil Service of Ukraine

Mogilev, Belarus, 15-16 May: Representatives of UNDP-led Chornobyl Recovery and Development Programme (CDRP) have shared their experience in undertaking local area-based approach for the recovery and development of Chornobyl affected areas at the national seminar "The Experience and Perspectives of the Post-Chornobyl International Cooperation: Lessons Learned by the Cooperation for Rehabilitation (CORE) Programme" in Belarus.

Local volunteers to help prevent HIV/AIDS in Mohyliv-Podilsky
Mohyliv-Podilsky, 15-16 May: Over 50 local volunteers have underwent specialised training by a UNDP-led Municipal Governance and Sustainable Development Programme (MGSDP) to further build their capacity in HIV/AIDS awareness and prepare them for disseminating this knowledge among local youth using a peer-to-peer approach.

UNDP contributes to establishing Youth Centres for Chornobyl-affected youth
Brusyliv District, Zhytomyr Region, 11 May: Local community organizations have united their efforts with the authorities and international aid organizations to open youth centres in the two villages for Chornobyl-affected youth.
